Welcome!
Your mental health matters!
Genesis Perinatal Counseling & Support is dedicated to providing specialized counseling, education, and support for new parents during the perinatal period. Our team of therapists offers a nurturing and understanding environment to help ease the transition to parenthood, prevent or reduce the risk of PMADs (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders), and help couples stay connected during a time when up to 70% of couples report reduced relationship satisfaction.
I'm Amirah David, a licensed professional counselor, a certified perinatal mental health professional, and founder of Genesis. With 11 years of experience supporting new families through this sacred, difficult, and life-changing experience, I and my team are equipped to help you navigate the big questions and challenges inherent in growing your family.

Our Specialized Services
Perinatal Therapy
Our perinatal therapy sessions provide a safe space for new moms (and dads) to seek support for birth trauma, loss, depression, anxiety, and relationship stress. Our specialized therapists are dedicated to providing compassionate care and evidence-based treatments to help individuals and couples navigate the perinatal journey.
Perinatal Education
Join our workshops (longer format) and classes designed to support parents' mental health during the tricky transition to parenthood. We offer guidance and resources for adjusting expectations, learning about PMADs (and how to reduce risk), postpartum planning, strengthening your partnership, and more - to help you navigate the common challenges of new parenthood.
Support Groups
Our support groups provide a nurturing community for individuals and couples to connect, share experiences, and receive guidance from our experienced therapists. We aim to foster a supportive environment where parents can find understanding and encouragement, and most of all, find healing from knowing they are not alone.
